Founders of Justin’s Lighthouse Recovery
Miles and Tina Lewis developed Justin’s Lighthouse Recovery after the overdose death of Miles’ younger brother, who died only weeks after graduating from a short-term addiction treatment program. After an in-depth study of the treatment industry to determine how anyone could die shortly after being discharged, they learned that mainstream treatment isn't designed to affect lasting change, but rather, to simply stabilize the patient and send them home. Many overdose deaths occur shortly after leaving a short-term clinical treatment facility because the patient isn't equipped to be back "in the real world". The patient "graduates" with high hopes only to return to old behaviors, sometimes very quickly.
Strange as it sounds, many mainstream treatments do not follow the latest addiction research. If they did, they would lose their repeat customers!
As a couple in long-term recovery, themselves, Miles and Tina have skin in the game and a passion to teach families the right strategies for achieving recovery. They have spent more than 20 years implementing these strategies with much success. Real solutions that move the patient (and their family) through a much deeper and more complete process towards lasting change. Far beyond traditional treatments.
Their approach combines behavioral science, addiction education, lived experience, healthy accountability, trauma healing, practical family strategies, and spiritual principles.
Miles and Tina are hands-on! They don't hide in an office while staff members work directly with the clients. They are on the front lines of the addiction battle and conduct 100% of their therapeutic process. This has given them a front row seat to the pain, fears, and hopes of families of addiction, for over 2 decades. They know what strategies work and which ones don't.
They don't teach families to abandon their loved ones. They coach families how to stop reacting, establish boundaries, support real recovery, and begin healing themselves.
All the information in this ebook is taken directly from Justin's Lighthouse daily program-curriculum that is proven to get results when followed.
When families start doing things differently, the addict usually follows.
“Recovery isn't a '"Maybe' thing, you just have to follow the right strategies" (Dr. Miles & Tina)

No. This guide is for parents, spouses, siblings, adult children, and anyone who loves someone struggling with addiction. This e-book can also be helpful for the individual who is struggling with substance abuse. A section of the e-book offers helpful information to the addict/alcoholic.
No one can guarantee or force another person to change. This guide will help you understand what you can control, stop repeating strategies that are not working, and respond in ways that better support recovery. Experience has shown that when families change the way they respond to their addict /loved one, the addict will usually accept help (80-90% of the time). This can take time since the addict is accustomed to being rescued, so the families must be diligent in practicing new strategies and remain consistent.
No. Justin’s Lighthouse does not teach automatic disconnection. The guide explains how healthy boundaries can protect your family while keeping the door open to real help.
Your family is exactly where these strategies work best!
The primary reason the addict continues to struggle is because real change has not occurred. If previous treatments have failed to create lasting change it explains why sobriety is only the beginning and why recovery must address thinking, behavior, emotions, structure, and family patterns. Our average client has participated in at least 3 treatments prior to finding our program. Only 3 clients over 20 years has ever required more treatment after graduating Justin's Lighthouse. Of those, they were allowed to return to our program and they took it much more seriously, and are now successful!
Your loved one’s addiction has taken enough from
your family. It does not get to control every
decision, every conversation, or every day of your life.

What successful families say...
Justin's Lighthouse, Dr. Lewis, and Tina Lewis, have saved my son's life. He is on the road to recovery and a new life thanks to their work with him. I cannot thank them enough or recommend them more highly.

We're been through many rehabs with our son and you are the first person in a recovery center to explain recovery in a systematic way that makes sense... I think of other places as a waste of time”

"I've been in therapy in Beverly Hills since I was 17yrs old. In one hour Dr. Miles explained to me what no other therapist could teach me over my 24 year period of being in and out of treatments. I was blown away by how they know exactly what is wrong and how to fix it"
